St. Mark's Episcopal School has a 50-year history of academic excellence. For students in early childhood through grade eight, the academic program provides a core curriculum with full choices in enrichment programs. Award-winning art and music programs and the inclusive athletics program enhance the academic curriculum. In keeping with the tradition of Episcopal schools nationwide, Christian values permeate the environment where each child is respected for his or her own talents and aptitudes and is taught to respect others. Graduates qualify for admission to the finest local high schools and boarding schools throughout the country, many of them exempt from first year math and/or foreign language. St. Mark's attractive campus includes St. Mark's Episcopal Church, two classroom buildings, a separate preschool facility, playing fields for sports teams, and a gymnasium-multipurpose building. There are 30 classrooms, office spaces, a library, a cafeteria, an art studio, two impressive science laboratories, two computer labs and a chapel. The Lower School is housed on what is called the Cub Campus, while the Middle School is on the Stone Campus.
St. Mark's ten-acre campus is bordered on the south by the Middle River and on the north by Oakland Park Boulevard, just west of Federal Highway (US1) in Fort Lauderdale. The School was established in 1959, and for over 50 years has gained the reputation of being the flagship Prekindergarten through Grade Eight school in our area.
